COVID-19 (Coronavirus) advice

Monday 23 March 2020: All candidates please be advised that the Graduate Medical School Admissions Test (GAMSAT) examination planned for 21 March will instead be run as an online exam at the end of May. Candidates will sit the exam at home or at a private location of their choosing.

All candidates sitting GAMSAT online will be required to have a stable internet connection and a suitable working computer. In the coming week, candidates will be emailed instructions on how to log in to the ACER registration site to update their registration information for the upcoming online May sitting. The portal will open to candidates from TBC until 5pm AEST 9 April 2020 for all registration updates and changes.

Candidates who have previously deferred or been refunded after the notification sent out on 6 March 2020 in relation to the COVID-19 situation will be given the opportunity to re-register or change their deferral status by logging into their account. Candidates who wish to remain refunded or deferred do not need to do anything. We ask that those candidates who have contacted ACER requesting a refund in the past fortnight please log in and request your refund again. All refunds will be processed after 9 April 2020.

No fee penalties will apply to refunds or deferrals. Further information including full technical details related to the new sitting will be available on the GAMSAT website and in a new candidate information booklet that will available from 30 March 2020.

We ask for your continued patience as we configure the ACER registration site for the new arrangements. We will email all candidates with updates or changes as required.

Further details regarding any changes to GEMSAS application processes and deadlines will be released this week. Please see the GEMSAS website for the latest information:
